Interreg Next MED launches new call for funding for green transition projects

The 2nd Call for Projects of the Interreg Next MED Programme is now open, dedicated to funding projects that promote the Green Transition and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient Mediterranean in the face of the challenges of climate change.

This funding opportunity opens the possibility of participation to entities outside the Programme’s eligible area, which will be able to take part in the projects as partners as long as they meet some specific conditions. The first is Relevance: the organisation’s participation must make an indispensable contribution to the project and its objectives that cannot easily be provided by an organisation located within the eligible area (in this case, the Algarve region in Portugal). The second is Impact on the objectives of the programme: the activities proposed by the external partner must demonstrate a clear and direct impact on the objectives of cooperation and sustainable development in the Mediterranean, in line with the objectives of the Programme.

The call has a total budget of 83.7 million Euros and the deadline for submitting applications is 15 April 2025 (12:00 in PT).
